Alicante City

Alicante, a vibrant port city on Spain’s Costa Blanca, combines history, beaches, and lively urban life. The city has a population of around 330,000 and welcomes tourists year-round. Alicante’s main beach, Playa del Postiguet, is located near the city center and offers soft sands and calm waters. Visitors can enjoy seaside bars and restaurants with views of the Mediterranean.

The historic Santa Bárbara Castle, perched on Mount Benacantil, offers panoramic views of Alicante and the coastline. The old town, known as “El Barrio,” features narrow streets, colorful houses, and a variety of tapas bars and cafés. Alicante also has a bustling marina and waterfront promenade, the Explanada de España, lined with palm trees and mosaic tiles.

Alicante’s mild climate and annual events, like the famous Bonfires of San Juan, make it a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. The city has excellent transportation connections, making it easy to reach nearby destinations on the Costa Blanca.
